You are a system made up of interdependent systems. 

A healthy system is a functioning system. It is a system that is animated, moving, changing, flowing, feeding, resting, growing, shrinking, pumping, cleaning, contorting, enduring, pulsing, pulsing, pulsing.

It is a woman who knows how to build lean muscle. It’s a man who understands the importance of stretching before bed. 

It is a system quick on its feet, that can adapt, mutate, regenerate, and defend itself. A system that tries to understand and predict the world accurately. A system that supports itself. 

Health isn’t about blood pressure. But it is about the underlying beat that governs your existence.

Vital Health is peak fitness. It is an ideal, a perfect loop that transcends us. As for us, well, we get on with our flawed systems until they bust. There goes our carotid artery. 

We decay, inexorably, but we are not powerless. It is minimal, but you do have a say, you do play a role. In the grand scheme of things, you are victim and perpetrator. You are author and protagonist, cause and consequence. What you do matters. You matter. But only for the duration of this story. The rest is no matter at all. 

There are different ways to approach Health, but all consider the larger picture of this ideal we can never quite attain. The ideal of a perfect control loop that feeds back onto itself. A productive, self-regulating entity that pulls us all. 

It is incumbent upon us to understand the different facets of Health as it pertains to the physical-mental-emotional wreck that we are. The pillars will set themselves as we go. There are of course goals and rules of thumb, guiding principles and habits. But Health is not a set of rules that we impose. It is a loop that forms, when we let it.

Our quest towards Vital Health requires an un-definition of that term. It requires us to build ourselves from the ground up, with the understanding that we are ground, and to ground we shall return. Your fitness foundations must be reestablished before you could reach your peak.
